Alberto Scuro, President of Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI), the FIVA national member of FIVA, has been elected as the President of FIVA. He succeeds Tiddo Bresters whose second three-year term has come to an end.
The election, which took place at the 2025 General Assembly of FIVA held in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil on November 23, 2025, also saw the elections of Nataša Grom Jerina as the new Senior Vice President for Internal Relations and Karlheinz Jungbeck of the German FIVA national member, ADAC, who succeeded her in the position of Vice President for Youth and Cultural Affairs. Tiddo Bresters stood for, and was elected to the FIVA Arbitration Panel, as was JJ Dolleman and Carlos Scoseria.
Malcolm Grubb, Vice President for Events; Lars Genild, Vice President for Legislation and Gabriela Magureanu, Vice President for Membership all were all re-elected to their positions without any challengers. Jos Theuns, who was also a candidate for the presidency of FIVA will continue in his position as Senior Vice President for External Relations.
Alberto Scuro ran on a platform of increasing the globalization of FIVA and greater interaction with the members. He has a long history of activities in the historical vehicle sector. A former vascular surgeon, Scuro was elected to the Board of Directors of ASI in 2011 and was subsequently elected President in 2019 pursuant to which he closed his medical practice to work full time running ASI. Scuro, who will delegate his duties at ASI to focus solely on his duties at FIVA, is an active collector of historic vehicles and also regularly competes in a broad array of events ranging from Le Mans Classic to the London-to-Brighton run.
The FIVA General Assembly which took place on a hybrid (online and physical) basis was especially noted for the hospitality of the hosts, Federaçao Brasileira De Veiculos Antigos (FBVA), the FIVA national member in Brazil.
