On April 5th, the Hellenic Classic Motorcycle Club organized the “Veteran Parade,” a unique ride dedicated to historic military and civilian motorcycles from the period 1900 to 1949.
It was time to take our motorcycles out of the garage, polish them, and truly enjoy them! It was a great opportunity to see our vintage machines in action, remember the roots of motorcycling, and share our common passion for them.
The meeting point was at the Battleship Averof, the Floating Naval Museum at Flisvos Marina, where a visit also took place.
Around 50 riders took Fiva pins , all true classic motorcycle enthusiasts.

ASIMotorshow 2026
The ASIMotorshow is an annual event held at the Autodromo Riccardo Paletti in Parma. It is part of the Motor Valley in the Emilia-Romagna region[1]. It is one of Italy's largest and most significant international events dedicated to the history of motorcycles. Entries come from Europe and across the world. The strong theme of the ASIMotoshow for 2026 included a special tribute to Ducati's 100th anniversary with the exhibition of some examples from the Borgo Panigale Museum
It involves bringing more than a thousand historic bikes, from mopeds, scooters, to former racing machines, back onto the track. Plus, many former racers and champions attended and rode on the circuit.
The machines date from the early 1900s up to the early 2000’s. They are categorized by era for 15-minute “free” laps. The term track “free” is a loose description, particularly with the more powerful machines!
The paddock is a cornucopia of sights and sounds. Machines are started and test ridden around with the racers on original exhausts of the type often noise limited at other tracks. One moment you might see a Ducati World Superbike racer weaving past a Vespa scooter, then next a Manx Norton on a full open Mega exhaust or a screaming DKW two-stroke racer. One popular viewing point was the gathering area where the machines assemble prior to going on the track, a maximum noise location – opposite the FIVA stand! Under Palmino Poli’s leadership, FIVA have always had a presence in a prominent position. This year with the added assistance of Luigi Frigerio and his club, the Valtellina Classic Car Club, volunteers we further enhanced our presence.

In particular, thanks are due to Victor Bosisio for manning the stand as well as working on the displayed BSA and Bianchi. Our “Classic Bike – Ride Don’t Hide” PINs were particularly popular.

Our President was very active almost being in multiple places at the same time. His particular liking for Laverda’s showed culminating in taking one onto the track!

It was great to meet some former members of the motorcycle commission. Johannes Goetze was, as usual, manning the adjacent German VFV club stand. Plus, from Greece Takis, his wife and Thanos. Despite health challenges Takis is still filled with enthusiasm and was talking of plans for an event in Athens later this year.

The MCC youth project moved ahead. Slovenian member Dejan Breznik leads on this and with the enthusiastic support of Peter Grom, successfully ran a competition to win a FIVA skateboard.

ASI are particularly good at involving politicians, this year included “La Senatrice Elena Murelli, Presidente Intergruppo Parlamentare Motorismo” who was a passenger in a sidecar that ran alongside the Moto Guzzi 3-wheeler that carried Palmino, Luigi and myself during the opening parade.

Former champions attending this year included Raymond Roche, Alvaro Bautista, Carlos Lavado & Benedicto Caldarella. The latter took every opportunity to ride the fully faired 4-cylinder 500cc Gilera. Alvaro Bautista was particularly fast on a World Superbike Ducati. It was a reminder for me of when we signed the updated FIM agreement at Assen on 23rd April 2023. Alvaro won both WSBK races over the weekend.

The ASIMotorshow has been described as one of the best dynamic museums available.
The event always features free admission, encouraging visitors to view bikes on the track and in the paddock.
It is a must for all motorcycle enthusiasts!

VI National Meeting of Antique Motorcycles
The event will place on September 11th to13th 2026 in the town of El Burgo de Osma (Soria).
As on the previous occasions, the Motorcycle and Events Commission of the Spanish Federation of Antique Vehicles (FEVA) organized the traditional meeting for motorcycles manufactured before 1980, giving greater prominence to those of national manufacture and those manufactured before 1950, which are the ones that have the least opportunities to ride in the events that are usually organized.
