A new structure to strengthen FIVA’s mission
FIVA Services Srl is the wholly owned subsidiary of FIVA, created to support the Federation’s commercial activities, manage VAT-liable services, and generate additional resources for the global historic vehicle community.
What is FIVA Services Srl?
FIVA Services Srl is a separate legal entity established by FIVA to manage commercial and revenue-generating activities on behalf of the Federation.
This structure allows FIVA to develop partnerships, sponsorships, and new initiatives in a transparent and compliant way, while preserving its core mission: protecting, preserving, and promoting historic vehicles worldwide.
FIVA Services Srl is fully owned by FIVA.
It does not replace the Federation, but supports it. Members’ rights, benefits, and relationship with FIVA remain unchanged.
Why was it created?
The creation of FIVA Services follows the strategic discussions held during the FIVA General Assembly in Brazil and responds to three key objectives:
1. Enhanced commercial capabilities
To enable FIVA to expand its activities, including sponsorship programmes, partnerships, and revenue-generating services, while remaining aligned with its values and mission.
2. VAT protection for members
Separating commercial activities from the Federation helps mitigate the risk that such activities could trigger VAT obligations on institutional membership fees, avoiding additional costs for members.
3. Management of VAT-liable services
Services such as FIVA ID Cards and published events are subject to VAT. Their invoicing and administration will therefore be handled by FIVA Services instead of FIVA Federation.
Governance and safeguards
FIVA Services has been designed with strong safeguards to ensure transparency, accountability, and full alignment with FIVA’s mission.
Profits fully returned to FIVA
All profits generated by FIVA Services are returned exclusively to FIVA Federation to support its programmes, advocacy work, and member services. This commitment is embedded in the company’s articles of incorporation.
Protection against conflicts of interest
Directors are legally and contractually prohibited from redirecting profits to external entities, personal accounts, or any organisation other than FIVA Federation.
Direct oversight by FIVA
FIVA Services operates under the supervision of the FIVA General Committee, ensuring full alignment with the Federation’s values and the interests of its members.
