FIVA and CP4Y attend EUCON After Market Symposium

On the 25th and 26th of June, Frank Delesen (CP4Y) and Jos Theuns (FIVA) attended the EUCON After Market Symposium in Munster Germany.

This yearly symposium is organized by EUCON GmbH who provides manufacturers, whole- and end-user market suppliers and other stakeholders in the industry with important data on vehicle age, usages and origin of spare parts, etc. With satellite offices in Europe, North America and Asia and more than 20 years in the business, EUCON GmbH can be considered a market leader in this field.

Changing market conditions and an increase in the interest for youngtimers and historic vehicles was one of the reasons for the invitation that was kicked off with an informal BBQ get-together with… a number of classic vehicles!

The EUCON staff, many of them high grade software engineers, also enjoy real vehicles next to their virtual software world and our Global Partner Glasurit was kind enough to attended this get-together as well, showing, amongst others, a Ford T-type and Jurgen Book’s “Green Monster”, a not-so-standard Texas inspired vehicle with snakeskin accents and other unique details that created much discussion and fun!

The meeting took place on the Wednesday and was packed with very useful information for the international audience in this trade and FIVA was able to make contact with a number of people that can help us to bring our ‘Protecting, Preserving  and Promoting historic vehicles’ under the attention of a wider audience. The joint presentation from CP4Y and FIVA focused on the significance of this market, the importance of correct data availability and a common approach to reach this market.

Having contact with this group of people is important since many still hold ‘new old stock’ and cooperation with CP4Y enables them to make this known to the general public by supplying this information for inclusion in the FIVA/CP4Y HV Part Catalogue. Also, the exchange of information with ClassicPart4You.com will help in identifying what parts are sought-after, hard to get and should be considered for reproduction, either by the original manufacturers or after-market suppliers.

All attendants showed a very positive stance toward the HV-scene and we would not be surprised if more similar initiatives will develop towards the industry, all to ensure that we will be able to source high quality parts to keep our vehicles moving!

CP4Y and FIVA thanks management and staff of EUCON for their excellent organization of the symposium, their hospitality and the opportunity given to bring our specific challenges under the footlight of the industry.
