Through the initiatives of the FIVA Culture and Youth Commission, FIVA has been working to introduce historic vehicles to the proverbial “next generation”. One of the enthusiastic members of the commission is Mr. Vincent Introvigne a young Belgian who not only sits on the commission on behalf of the Belgian national authority of FIVA, BEHVA, but also represents FIVA at the Youth Working Group of UNESCO.
Vincent recently had the opportunity to attend the Bremen Motorshow 2025 and we are pleased to provide his perspectives below:
“At the Bremen Classic Motorshow 2025, invited by our friends at ADAC Klassik, we not only showcased the FIVA Youth Challenge Trophy, but also uncovered three inspiring projects led by young people, for young people.
One project, hosted by Mercedes-Benz R/C 107 SL-Club Deutschland e.V., is a competition that offers young participants the opportunity to drive a Mercedes SL for three months. This exciting experience has sparked incredible feedback and exchanges between generations.
The second project, organised by Klassiker Nachwuchs in partnership with the Bremen Classic Motorshow, introduces young enthusiasts to the world of historic vehicles, covering mechanics, restoration, and other related aspects of the industry.
The third project, Freunde der Bremer Straßenbahn e.V., is driven by a team of passionate restorers working on historic trams and buses that first operated in Bremen. One young participant is currently leading the restoration of an articulated Neoplan bus.
Once again, we have built new connections and uncovered innovative ideas led by and for young people. These projects showcase fresh talent and a strong commitment to ensuring that the passion for classic cars continues for generations to come.
