The Commission

The FIVA Utilitarian and Commercial Vehicle Commission (U.C.V.C.) is an internal working group of FIVA handling all matters concerning this specific category of vehicles. Each member appoints one voting and one deputy voting delegates to the Commission. Each year the Commission elects its officers, consisting of a Chairman, two Vice-Chairmen and a Secretary. The Commission meets in a full session at least once a year. The officers meet as often as needed to fulfil the tasks assigned to the Commission.

Aims and tasks

The Utilitarian and Commercial Vehicle Commission of the FIVA is the working Commission handling all matters concerning this specific category of vehicles. It is one of the internal working groups of FIVA.

The Utilitarian and Commercial Vehicle Commission has several tasks in FIVA:

1. List of Clubs
   The first item which the commission worked on was to gather information on the several clubs in the world specialised in this category of vehicles and to list those clubs.
2. List of activities
   The commission was invited to some events and attended them as the representative of FIVA. Each year the commission tries to set up an international activity list.
3. Specialists
   The Commission received more and more information about people specialising in certain makes of vehicles and produced a list of them.
4. Special matters
   The Commission tried in the past two years to obtain information about the problems existing in several countries and to gather the specific laws applying in those countries. This item will be worked out the next year.
5. Technical "slibs"
   During the working year 2000, the commission worked very hard to translate technical slibs of military vehicles. We will translate other technical slibs about agriculture vehicles.

Structure and Procedures

Composition of the Utilitarian and Commercial Vehicle Commission
The Utilitarian and Commercial Vehicle Commission is made of an appointed delegate and a deputy delegate from each FIVA member. The delegates should be chosen on the grounds of personal competence. The Utilitarian and Commercial Vehicle Commission meets in a full session once a year in combination with the General Assembly. But, if needed, the Utilitarian and Commercial Vehicle Commission can hold an extra full session meeting at any time. As most FIVA members have a delegate in this Commission, the Commission is fairly large.

Voting

Each FIVA member who has a delegate in the Utilitarian and Commercial Vehicle Commission can vote at the meetings of the Commission on the basis of one vote per member. Please note: a given country can have more than one member in FIVA. Decisions are taken by simple majority of the voting delegates within the Commission.

As part of its service, many members interested in the preservation of commercial, military, agricultural and other utilitarian vehicles, the Commission has prepared some technical data sheets about a variety of utilitarian vehicles.
