FIVA signs partnership with Pirelli, to offer free tyre and technical advice to private enthusiasts

In its ongoing efforts to build a comprehensive resource of freely available expert technical advice for private enthusiasts, FIVA (the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens or international federation of historic vehicles) has signed a partnership agreement with Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli.

“We’re delighted that Pirelli has agreed to be FIVA’s exclusive partner in all matters relating to tyres, taking on the role of a global technical adviser,” explained Senior Vice President Dr Mario Theissen. “Clearly, choosing the right tyres for historic vehicles and maintaining them correctly has serious implications for road safety, as well as a major impact on the enjoyment of driving, so the addition of Pirelli to our panel of expert international advisers is very welcome news.”

FIVA will now work with Pirelli to develop expert content for its website, freely available to anyone wanting to know more about tyres for historic vehicles, including their specification, purchase, monitoring and maintenance.

“As the number of technical partners grows, FIVA plans to expand the breadth of its technical advice service to – eventually – cover the widest possible spectrum of topics, gradually building a comprehensive, regularly updated resource for classic car enthusiasts everywhere,” concludes Dr Theissen.

Notes to Editors

FIVA is the only global organisation of its kind aiming to encourage the safe use of historic, mechanically propelled road vehicles, while remaining equally focused on preserving and promoting the very culture of motoring. In 2016, FIVA celebrated its 50th anniversary with the FIVA World Motoring Heritage Year programme under the formal patronage of UNESCO.
